Intereach
From Insight to Impact - Elevating Intereach’s Regional Aged Care Offering
The Brief
Intereach, a not-for-profit community organisation with a 50-year legacy of supporting rural and regional communities, engaged Sauce Communications to help strengthen its marketing and communications strategy, particularly in the in-home aged care space, amidst significant sector reform. The organisation needed a clear, strategic approach to position itself as a trusted provider under the incoming Support at Home reforms, while also aligning with its broader mission of empowering communities to live their best lives.
Sauce was tasked with conducting a comprehensive communications audit and developing a tailored strategy and implementation plan to support Intereach’s growth in key regional locations: Bendigo, Swan Hill, Shepparton, and the Macedon Ranges.
Our Approach
Sauce began with an in-depth communications audit, reviewing Intereach’s existing marketing activities, brand positioning, and stakeholder engagement across both traditional and digital channels. This included an analysis of internal processes, collateral, social media, media coverage, and SEO performance. The audit revealed a strong emotional connection to the brand within communities, but also highlighted inconsistencies in messaging, underutilised digital assets, and a generalist brand image that diluted its aged care offering.
From this foundation, Sauce developed a strategic roadmap focused on elevating Intereach’s aged care services while preserving its broader community identity. The strategy was built around key messaging pillars designed to reinforce Intereach’s unique value as a regional provider. A staged rollout was proposed: the first phase focused on building trust and awareness post-reform, while the second phase introduced a sustained calendar of brand-building activities.
The strategy included a multi-channel approach prioritising community engagement, radio, print, and partnerships, supported by digital, social media, and video content. Sauce also provided detailed recommendations for improving SEO, leveraging user-generated content, enhancing social media responsiveness, and building referral networks through local partnerships. A full implementation plan was developed to guide Intereach’s internal team in executing the strategy over time.
