Bringing the inaugural Young Farmers Business Program conference to life

Mark Bouris, Stirling Mortlock, action-packed conference tours, a mini food mart and 300 young farmers… Sauce was excited to support the NSW Department of Primary Industries to deliver the inaugural Young Farmer Business Program Conference this year! The event, held in Dubbo, attracted young farmers and fishers from across NSW ready to be inspired, motivated and to learn critical business, finance and planning skills.

Working with regionally based suppliers, Sauce provided end to end event management including the management of program, venue, budget, exhibitors, speakers, communication, catering and participant registration.

Leaving from Leeton Wednesday morning, our events team were greeted by very welcome rain on the drive in just outside Dubbo. The rain continued to fall on and off for the three day event, but cleared in time for the event highlight, the conference tours.

Three conference tours on day one allowed participants to visit a range of agricultural business including Booth Agriculture, Fletcher International Exports, Devil’s Elbow Brewery, JAD Agriculture and the property of Nigel Kerin.

An excellent range of speakers; the conference was headlined by Mark Bouris from the television shows ‘The Mentor’ and ‘The Apprentice Australia’ and former Wallaby captain Stirling Mortlock.

The speaker program was brought to life by Think in Colour Founder Jessamy Gee with engaging illustrations drawn live and projected on the stage screen to complement each presentation.

The event offered a range of networking opportunities including a conference dinner which employed a novel ‘mini food market’ where local producers were on hand to showcase their element of the menu.

We were proud to support an initiative aimed at encouraging and educating the next generation in agriculture. We’d also like to congratulate and extend a big thank you to the hardworking Young Farmer Business Program team including Alex Hicks, Team Leader, Emma Remond, Assistant Project Officer and Tim Flynn, Program Coordinator.
