Ring the bell, cut the ribbon, AuMake goes from strength to strength

22 December 2017

Australian daigou trailblazer, AuMake, has kept the Sauce team busy this quarter with an ASX listing and the opening of their flagship store in the heart of the Sydney CBD.

AuMake is a one-stop-shop for daigou, facilitating in-store purchases with knowledgeable bi-lingual staff and instore logistics where purchases can be sent directly from the store to relatives and friends in China.

Over the past six months, Sauce has provided communications, media and event support, prior to and post a $6 million Initial Public Offering (IPO) and Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) listing in addition to providing PR support for the opening of their flagship store on George Street in November attended by national media, investors, Chinese tourists and diagou. This is the first of 20 stores of its kind to be rolled out across Australia over the next 12 months.

A true retail success story, Sauce has helped AuMake secure widespread positive national and international media coverage through SKY Business, SBS World News, Channel 7, A Current Affair, The Australian, The Economist, Australian Financial Review, Sydney Morning Herald, Merger Markets, South China Morning Post,, Reuters, ABC News and CNBC TV around their ASX listing and the opening of their flagship store on George Street in Sydney.

The opportunity for Sauce in positioning AuMake was to dispel the many myths about daigou which had been circulating publicly and reinforce AuMake’s important position as a source of supply for daigou and Chinese tourists and as a direct channel to China for many Australian suppliers.

The company is on a rapid growth phase to expand its store network across Australia, increase the number of Australian products and brands they own and improve their online store. Introducing Australian products and businesses to a new market, and working with the fantastic team at AuMake has made this one of our stand out projects for  2017.

Our journey with AuMake has being an exciting one for the whole Sauce team so we snatched the opportunity while in Sydney for our Team Alignment Day to visit AuMake’s George Street store and meet Managing Director Joshua Zhou (pictured above).

Congratulations to AuMake on their continued success. With a $20m capital raising just announced, we look forward to sharing in further wins together before the year is out and in 2018.
