At Sauce, if there’s one thing we love, it’s team members who understand the issues facing our clients.
With over 10 years on the front line of writing and reading the news in Griffith, Jacalyn not only has experience of reporting on local issues, she lives them every day on the rice, wheat and sheep farm that she and her husband run at Widgelli.
Practical, sensitive and never scared to try new things, Jackie comes with the added bonus of a cracker contacts list in the NSW region. And if all that wasn’t enough, the fact that Jackie’s worked on the other side of the media, means she has the perfect eye for what makes a good story and knows just what the media is looking for.
Did we mention she was 2007 runner-up in the TV country broadcast category of the prestigious NSW Farmers’ Association Mackellar Media Award? All in all, PR gold dust!
Jackie’s combination of media experience, excellent writing skills and deep understanding of local issues, including agriculture and water policy, means we’re delighted about the unique ingredient she brings to Sauce, and we know our clients will be too.
Apart from its fancy new headquarters, what Jackie likes most about working at Sauce is the opportunity to use her journalism skills in a whole new way - being able to adapt what she’s learned in the news room to public relations, and to be able to do that in the place she was born and bred.
With her background, Jackie doesn’t think there could be a better fit than working with the Ricegrowers’ Association of Australia Inc. Not only has she redeveloped the association’s website from start to finish and helped event manage their 2011 annual conference, she’s got a whole host of fresh ideas to share the industry’s story. Watch this space as they say!
