Creating the perfect woodfired moment with De Bortoli Wines

What could be better than the perfect glass of red to wash down a chargrilled ribeye? According to De Bortoli Wines and Team Sauce – nothing!
We were thrilled to work with De Bortoli Wines to help launch their WOODFIRED Heathcote Shiraz 2015, a delicious dark and brooding drop from Victoria’s home of big reds.
Crafted to appeal to people who love a great red wine with their steak, De Bortoli Wines enlisted Sauce’s media relations expertise to ensure the essence of WOODFIRED was captured. To fill this brief, Sauce worked with De Bortoli Wines to create gourmet media kits comprising all the essential ingredients for that perfect WOODFIRED moment – olive oil, “Steve’s steak rub” designed by De Bortoli Wines Chief Winemaker Steve Webber, and the exclusive De Bortoli Wines WOODFIRED Steak Sauce, hand-crafted using WOODFIRED Heathcote Shiraz by artisan condiment producer ‘Made by Katherine’.
To create a buzz around the launch, the kits were delivered to foodie and wine media to enjoy the WOODFIRED experience firsthand, and enjoy they did! The gutsy red is continuing to receive high praise across social media from key influencers’ duydash, daniel_bbq_man, mrneoluxe, 2 Hungry Guys and onceuponawine to name a few, as well as from traditional media including
The Daily Telegraph and radios 2GB and 2UE and wine trade media like Drinks Bulletin and The Shout.
Making this release particularly special was that WOODFIRED was the first wine to feature the
family-owned winery’s new brand identity, recently refreshed to give their range of premium and distinctive wines a contemporary new look while staying true to the family heritage.
